Unfortunately, Saoirse wasn't the judges choice on the day with Kilcumin winning the Solo County Final. Saorise can be very proud of her performance in Scor so far this season having come through both the District Board and County Semi Finals the past few weeks with flying colours to make it to the County Final. Well done to both Saoirse and Aoife for their commitment over the past few months. This weekend see clash of the top two teams in the league as Emmets take on Na Gaeil at 12noon in Listowel on Sunday 9th April.
Emmets currently stand on 7points, 3 points clear of nearest opponents Na Gaeil. Listowel Emmets had a hard welcome to Division two on Sunday last in Listowel as Kenmare made the long journey up North and came away with two well deserved points. However, that was the only spell of dominance the home side savoured for the rest of the game as Denis Walsh was lost due to injury , while Stephen O'Brien and Paul O'Connor found their feet and tapped points over the bar with relative ease, Shane O'Neill pulled off a fine save from a shot by Aidan Crowley, however O'Connor goaled in the closing minutes leaving the half time score Emmets Kenmare There was no let up for the home side on the resumption as Kenmare powered through a depleted Listowel side who had no answer for the forward line of O'Connor, Crowley and O'Brien.
Crowley stroke for Kenmare's second goal and extended their lead by 10 points. Emmets continued to the end with Kennelly, Heaphy and Cox taking points to leave the full time score Emmets Kenmare Subs: MP. Kelliher for D Walsh 23mins , B. Greaney for D.
